THE CHRISTMAS MARKET IN MURANO

Following the success of the charity festival in support of the Church of SS. Maria and Donato, and the event ‘Bocca del Fuoco’ (both held in September 2021) Hyatt Loves Murano is focusing on our island again on the occasion of the annual Christmas market.

The focus of the new initiative is local amateur handicraft in all its facets: zero-mile agricultural products directly from the cultivations of Sant’Erasmo and from the beehives of Murano, small creations of costume jewelry and textiles and beauty products.

In addition to handicrafts, there are also social initiatives: Krama Friends ODV, an association in support of Cambodian children, and Amiche per la pelle Progetto Armonia to raise awareness for the prevention of breast cancer.

The first appointment with Murano’s hobbyists on 27 and 28 November saw the active participation of the local community, Venetians and foreigners.  A breath of Christmas magic was brought by Santa Claus, who spoiled the children with candies and sweets in the early afternoon.  To warm up the atmosphere during the aperitif, an overwhelming acoustic jam session featured the voices of Alessandro Vesco, Tommaso Gavagnin and Giorgia Stellon.

On 4 and 5 December, the second-to-last and last date with the Christmas markets, we saw the involvement of new exhibitors. Santa Claus always present for the greediest children while for the older ones, on the opening night, aperitif with Spritz or mulled wine and DJ set entertainment by Alberto Rosso.
